In the midst of this chaotic season, retailers are trying to be creative with Black Friday while competing fiercely for consumer attention. Seasoned bargain hunters will find amazing gifts at a great prices. The coronavirus also brings big changes to the highly anticipated day of deals. When is Black Friday 2020?

This year, Black Friday falls on Friday, Nov. 27. As always, it’s known as the biggest shopping day of the year besides Amazon’s Prime Day. We’re not exaggerating when we say you can score a discount on pretty much anything on your holiday gift list.

Deals Are No Longer Confined To Just One Day

This isn’t the year for large crowds. So to minimize the sheer quantity of people sprinting through stores this holiday season, retailers like Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Costco and Best Buy have announced that they are closing on Thanksgiving. Many stores have yet to announce if they will be open on Black Friday.

This means that instead of one day dedicated to the lowest prices, some stores will roll out deals online throughout October, November and December. Plus, here are 11 things DIYers should always buy on Black Friday.

Which Stores are Open?

Unlike the Thanksgiving Day closures we mentioned above, brick-and-mortar store closings for Black Friday haven’t been confirmed yet. That could change, so keep checking back here for the latest updates.

Walmart was the first to announce its Black Friday sale hours. In a press release on Walmart’s website, the company announced all stores will open at 5 a.m. local time.

“Customers will form a single, straight line to enter the store,” the release said. “Associates will hand out sanitized shopping carts to customers to help with social distancing, and Health Ambassadors will be placed at entrances to greet customers and remind them to put on a mask.”

Can I Shop Early?

Many retail giants are starting their Black Friday deals earlier than usual and online, so customers don’t rush to the stores on one day. Target, Walmart and The Home Depot will begin their sales early to cut back on in-store crowds.

• Walmart’s Black Friday Deals for Days will start on Nov. 4 and will continue until Nov. 27.
• Target’s Black Friday Now event runs from Oct. 29 through the end of November.
• The Home Depot’s Black Friday sale goes from Nov. 8 through Dec. 2.
