You’ve Been Using Your Laundry Basket Wrong This Whole Time

Doing laundry isn’t a task one typically looks forward to doing, but the worst part by far is unloading your clothes. Depending on whether you have a top or front-loading machine, you’ve either got to lean over the top on your tip toes to get the clothes out (and end up with a nasty pang in your side) or hunch over to climb in and get the last sock stuck in the recesses of the machine (and end up with a nasty pang in your back). But what if I told you unloading your dryer doesn’t have to be nearly as tedious or time-consuming as it’s been your whole life?

It turns out that if you have the right laundry basket, unloading your dryer can take less than 10 seconds and requires no hunching over. The hack has been going viral on TikTok, with people everywhere mind-blown that they weren’t aware of the simple hack that makes unloading one’s dry laundry a breeze.

To achieve this feat, all you need is one of those classic plastic laundry baskets with a reinforced rim that has a width narrower than the width of your dryer door. Instead of taking your clothes out and throwing them into the basket one handful at a time, simply turn your basket upside down and put it inside your dryer over the clothes inside. Now, turn the drum so that the basket turns rightside up and all the clothes at the bottom of the drum should fall right inside of it.
