Wood Smoke Contains Some Nasty Chemicals

Wood smoke actually contains some pretty potent toxins, including benzene, formaldehyde, acrolein, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It also adds particulates to the air, which can harm your lungs.
