The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, is the largest home in the U.S. and comes in at a staggering 135,280 square feet. That’s 35,000 square feet more than the next biggest home in the U.S. The estate was built for the Vanderbilt family, which built its fortune through railroads, and had 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms and 65 fireplaces and was officially opened in 1895, six years after construction started.
