WORX Launches New Line of Electric Pressure Washers

North Carolina-based tool manufacturer WORX recently introduced two new electric pressure washers to its line of green outdoor power equipment. Both new washers provide 13 amps of power and are available in 1500 and 1600 PSI models. The larger 1600 PSI model comes with a rolling cart, while the smaller 1500 PSI unit is designed for spaces with limited storage.

The products represent WORX’s first foray into power washing equipment.

The larger model includes a 42-ounce soap tank and uses 1.3 gallons of water per minute (gpm). It comes with four quick-connect nozzles that regulate water pressure to handle everything from muddy off-road vehicles to boats, patio furniture and windows. It weighs almost 29 pounds, stands 35 inches tall and is 26 inches in diameter.

The 1500 PSI model is still powerful but far more portable and compact. Weighing just 16 pounds, it’s 17 inches long and 12-1/2 inches high and comes with snap-in ports for two quick-connect nozzles. It also features a 20-foot hose, compared to the larger model’s 25-foot hose.

The product launch from WORX comes at an auspicious time, as industry researcher Fractovia is forecasting a three percent growth in the high pressure washer segment through 2026. According to a report on Fractovia’s web site, “The high pressure washers market is likely to gain remarkable traction driven by cleaning requirements in construction, commercial vehicle cleaning centers, oil & gas, mining, janitorial, food & pharmaceuticals, municipalities and residential applications.”

The WORX pressure washers aren’t cheap; they retail for $170 and $100, respectively. But the company insists they will pay for themselves over a long weekend compared to the cost of renting similar equipment. Power washers this size can usually be rented in four-hour blocks for $25 to $50, total.
