Throughout September, Werner is hosting virtual safety training sessions for construction professionals. The training sessions include sections on ladder safety and fall protection and can be accessed for free here.
The ladder safety sections include a collection of videos on how to use climbing products safely, highlighting topics such as ladder inspection and operating aluminum pumpjack systems. The fall protection videos focus mainly on how different kinds of harnesses are designed and operated.
Each section also includes a free course for construction professionals with overviews and in-depth looks at each safety topic. Participants earn a certificate for completion.
Werner offers these trainings as part of the Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration’s National Safety Stand-Down initiative. It’s a voluntary event where employers and employees meet to talk directly about safety.
“Any workplace can hold a stand-down by taking a break to focus on ‘Fall Hazards’ and reinforcing the importance of ‘Fall Prevention’,” reads the official OSHA website. “Employers of companies not exposed to fall hazards, can also use this opportunity to have a conversation with employees about the other job hazards they face, protective methods, and the company’s safety policies and goals.”
The National Safety Stand-Down runs from Sept. 14-18. For more information and additional resources, click here. For more information on the Werner virtual safety training sessions, click here.
